How is PPF interest calculated?
PPF interest is compounded annually on the year-end balance. This tool adds your yearly contribution, then applies the annual rate, for each of the years in the term.
What is the current PPF interest rate?
The PPF rate is set by the government each quarter and has recently been around 7.1%. Enter the prevailing rate to get an accurate estimate.
What is the PPF contribution limit?
You can invest between ₹500 and ₹1,50,000 per financial year in a PPF account.
How long is the PPF lock-in?
PPF has a 15-year term, which can be extended in blocks of 5 years. That is why the tenure defaults to 15 years here.
Is PPF maturity tax-free?
PPF enjoys EEE status — contributions, interest and the maturity amount are all exempt from tax under current rules.
